By Alain Buffard

When the late French choreographer Alain Buffard set out to create a film about Anna Halprin, the pair staged a series of lunches at various performance: a square in San Francisco’s North Beach, her famous dance deck in Kentfield, the Berkeley Art Museum, and Stinson Beach. The result is a move away from the traditional documentary form toward a lively dialogue between two dancers. It is an extended interview with astonishing moments of exchange.
